Biography
Shirin June was born in Orange County, CA on June 15, 1985. The youngest of 3 girls and the first of her family born in the United States, Shirin and her family moved to Riverside when she was about 1 year old. Ever since then, she has lived in the same house, on the same street, in the same neighborhood. Growing up in Riverside, Shirin enjoyed everything the town had to offer. Her elementary, middle, and high school were all within a 10 mile radius of each other. Even UC Riverside, where she pursued her undergraduate was practically in her own backyard.
Riverside has also been where Shirin has been able to pursue many of passions from teaching to developing her own theatre company. As a resident-in-artist for the Riverside Arts Council's Arts and Minds Program, Shirin has spent the past several years working with different elementary and middle schools in the Riverside Unified School District in order to bring a first-hand and often first experience of theatre to the youth. Furthermore, Shirin has been fortunate enough to be one of the original members of 3 Theatre Group, for which she serves on the Board of Directors. In her work with 3TG, Shirin has been able to create the Inland Empire Shakespeare Festival in order to bring the great works of the Bard to areas in Riverside and San Bernardino that have had to go without in past years. Throughout the rest of their season, 3TG strives to present new, exciting and challenging works of art. Information on both these organizations can be found on their corresponding pages on her website.
Currently, Shirin June is pursuing her MFA in Acting at California State University, Los Angeles. Shirin still resides in Riverside, CA in the same house, on the same street, in the same neighborhood.
