3 Theatre Group
3 Theatre Group was started with Sarah Towning Jacques, Paul Jacques, and Patrick Brien as an iniative to create and produce the type of theatrical works that just didn't have a presence in Riverside. The first shows put on by 3TG, for instance, were Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, Glengarry Glen Ross, and Top Girls -- the last of which had not been performed in Riverside except for once, by UC Riverside, over twenty years earlier.
As an original member of the company, Shirin June has been a part of each production, if not onstage then offstage, assuring that everything run smoothly. Shirin serves on the Board of Directors for 3TG and enjoys handling the marketing and promotional aspect of the business.
"Working behind-the-scenes of a production stills allows you to get a hands-on experience, if not more so. Without having to worry about creating a character and everything that goes along with that, my time is spent meeting with the cast and production staff to work on the project from a big-picture point of view. From there, I can take the cohesive idea and bring it to the public. I have been fortunate to be able to use the resources I have acquired in Riverside and the ones I am currently in pursuit of in Los Angeles to bring those two worlds together."
